The company is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is among the few that are still making the classic whitewall tires used on vintage cars. While the tires maintain the old design, they are made of modern materials which makes them safe and efficient on the roads. Coker Tire got the manufacturing rights from the brands mentioned above, so they can produce the old models that are not made any more by the original owners.
Coker Tire is the main source of classic models like the Firestone Deluxe Champion and the BFGoodrich Silvertown. These tires are the exact OEM replacements for multiple brands and models of vintage cars. The company uses refurbished original molds to preserve the original design, but with modern materials and manufacturing techniques.
You can see how cool the Coker tires are, by watching videos on the company’s Youtube channel.
Unlike other companies that are applying the whitewall or redline sidewall treatments after the construction, Coker Tire includes the sidewall treatment in the manufacturing process. They are also among the few companies to produce modern radial tires that have a narrow profile and the unique shoulders of vintage bias ply tires.
Coker tires are perfect for those who want the vintage look but also the driving comfort and safety of modern tires. The company also has a Performance Division which makes drag racing tires such as the Phoenix Race Tires, the Pro-Trac tires, the M&H Racemaster tires and some Firestone models.
Unlike popular modern models from brands like Continental, Michelin, Goodyear and others, the Coker tires and the old models of vintage cars are much more difficult to find. By getting them from a reputable online store such as Utires.com, you are making sure that you are buying a safe used tire. All of our tires go through rigorous testing before being sold.
We currently have 3 used Coker tires in stock, but feel free to come back to this page as more models will be added soon.
This model was innovated by the company and was the first wide whitewall radial tire. These tires are not painted in white as others are, but the whitewall construction is built into the tire right from the start. These tires are made with modern materials yet with a classic design that will perfectly fit old collection cars. Prices start at $118, with various sizes available, tread depths from 8 to 11, a load index of 95 and a speed index of P.
Set of 2 Used Coker tires 6R16 Classic 95P with a very good tread depth 8/32” costs $212.56 For the Used tire 78-14 Classic 1N/A with a almost perfect tread 10.5/32” the price is $142.36
Yes, they are good for what they are designed for — vintage vehicles. These cars are usually not used for daily driving and are mostly for special events and occasions. So don’t expect a vintage car with vintage tires to perform as a new car with modern tires. But the big majority of people that used Coker tires were very satisfied and were able to use them for many years and many miles with no problems.
The company is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee and that’s where their products are manufactured.
The company still exists and makes the quality and interesting products we talked about on this page, just that they are now a part of the Irving Place Capital private equity firm.
If the whitewall was made during the manufacturing process, as on all Coker tires, then you can legally drive them on the streets. But in case the whitewall has been obtained through painting, shaving, grounding or other processes, then it’s not legal for driving.
