Live traffic report

San Antonio is one of the fastest-growing cities in the US. According to the US census, it draws in around 1,100 new residents a day! Being a smaller city with a population of around 1.5 million, it also becomes a popular place to move to during the pandemic. With a growing population comes an increasing amount of vehicles on the road and in some locations inadequate infrastructure to cope with higher traffic volumes.
Whilst traffic jams in San Antonio will never compete with New York gridlock, heavy traffic can still spoil your day or cause you to be late for an appointment. SA’s peak hour traffic hours are 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. It’s best to try and avoid hitting the roads between these times if you need to get from a to b as quickly as possible. To get an accurate real-time SA traffic report, go to:

  3. Texan law stipulates that drivers must turn their headlights on from 30 minutes after sunset until 30 minutes before sunrise.
  4. Legally in Texas, headlights need to be turned on when visibility is less than 1,000 feet, including when it’s raining.
  5. On rural roads, the speed limit is 70 miles per hour regardless of whether it's two-lanes, four-lanes, or a freeway.

Unspoken Road Rules

Whether you’re planning a permanent move to San Antonio or a short vacation to the US’s seventh most populous city, it’s good to get to grips with the state driving laws, as well as any unspoken rules of the road well in advance. In a recent study, SA was named the 24th best city for driving in the US. As in many other major cities, traffic jams build up at peak hours, usually, from 7 am until 9 am and from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., but at all other times of the day, San Antonio roads are relatively uncongested. To check the live traffic conditions in SA, and find out more about parking regulations, follow the links below:
